Veterans: A Valuable Asset to Your Company's Workforce

We know the value veterans bring to our nation, but business communities may overlook their value to economic development. Military experience is as diverse as the citizens our active service men and women protect. However, when it comes to reviewing a resume, many prospective employers do not speak the same language as a veteran entering the civilian workforce. This often causes individuals with qualified leadership skills, experience, and credentials to be overlooked for upper management positions. Business owners understand that the value of quality employees cannot be overstated.

Chamber members such as Peregrine Integrated Management, itself a veteran-owned small business, work to ease the veteran transition process and mentor other veteran business owners. Working with UALR and the Arkansas Veteran's Coalition, they found that 90% of veterans have some education beyond high school.

  • 14% have an advanced degree
  • 30% have a bachelor's degree
  • 46 % have an associate's degree or some college credits

Bob Nabholz, a WWII veteran, founded our company in 1949. Since then numerous veterans have served and continue to serve our organization, including 62 of our current team members.  Nabholz continues to actively support and recruit team members from the military through various sources.  We are very grateful for their service to our country and the tremendous contribution they have made to the success of Nabholz.

As we celebrate our nation this 4th of July, let us remember that veterans serve long beyond their active duty. If you are looking for your next star employee to take your business to the next level, veterans should be in the conversation.
