Our Story

Greg Sporer is a mental health provider with 38 years of experience specializing in PTSD for active military and veterans. Recognizing the transformative power of service dogs in healing veterans with PTSD, he founded A Veteran’s Best Friend, a non-profit organization that has successfully graduated over 150 service dogs.

Nancy Sporer, an elementary school teacher, experienced the profound impact of a service dog firsthand when she trained one for her daughter, who battled chronic Lyme Disease. Deeply involved in assisting others with chronic pain issues, Nancy recognized the immense value of these animals.

Now, Greg and Nancy have united to offer a unique solution for individuals struggling with PTSD and chronic pain. They understand that a service dog can provide both healing and invaluable support. Together, they aim to make a difference in the lives of those who suffer.

“Training Domino to be my PTSD service dog was one of the best decisions of my life. I enjoyed the entire year-long training process with Greg.
