This special MED Week edition of the Power Up Little Rock series, presented by Arvest, will feature the Minority Business Awards and a keynote address by Rev. Cory Anderson, chief innovation officer of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. The event will be held virtually, with tickets including catered meals delivered from local minority restaurant and catering businesses.

The Minority Business Awards is an annual anchor of MED Week. This year nearly one hundred businesses have been nominated, hoping to join an esteemed list of previous winners. Finalists and award winners in these four categories will be honored:

Emerging Minority Business of the Year
Minority Mentor of the Year
Minority Legacy Business of the Year
Minority Business of the Year, presented by Sam's Club #8104

Rev. Cory Anderson is the chief innovation officer for the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF), an Arkansas-based foundation which exists to relentlessly pursue economic, educational, social, ethnic, and racial equity for all Arkansans. WRF has invested in the Capital Access Report to understand if there are inequities in access to capital for small businesses in Arkansas. The report provides an analysis of the current availability of business capital and other forms of financing to women, BIPOC, citizens returning to communities, and other populations underrepresented in the state. Rev. Anderson will discuss the study's findings and its implications for minority-owned small businesses and minority entrepreneurs in Arkansas.
