Power Up Little Rock is hosted by the chamber and presented by Arvest Bank. This quarterly series highlights important economic development trends, issues and developments within the region and the state.

The Metro Little Rock Alliance – a regional marketing coalition – is hosting five of the nation’s top site location consultants for a panel discussion on the latest trends in corporate site selection. The group will spend three days across the Metro Little Rock region, meeting with stakeholders, evaluating sites, and meeting with state and local leadership. The final event will be a panel discussion to discuss findings and conclusions with the consultants, presented to an audience economic development stakeholders across the region. This panel will provide specific feedback and high-level recommendations on ways to become more competitive for business investment, and provides education to the community stakeholders on how business location decisions are made and what other leading economic development organizations are doing to attract investment.

Meet the Panelists

Kim Moore
Executive Managing Director
Newmark

Kim L. Moore joined Newmark's Dallas office in 2014 as a part of the firm's Global Strategy and Consulting Team, a practice within the firm's Global Corporate Services (GCS). Kim leads the Economic Incentives Advisory and the Economic Development Consulting Services practices. With a background in economic development, incentive negotiation and strategic planning, Kim led marketing efforts and strategic planning for the private and public sector. She has a diverse background with a broad range of economic development, incentives, and site selection experience.

Mark Williams
President
Strategic Development Group, Inc.

As Founder and President of Strategic Development Group, Mark Williams specializes in manufacturing and office facility site selection and negotiation for mid-to large-size US and Multinational corporations in chemical, automotive and transportation, distribution, life science, and steel sectors.

Prior to founding Strategic Development Group, Mark served as Chief Development Officer of the South Carolina Department of Commerce, where he directed South Carolina's domestic and global business recruitment activities, including the operation of the Commerce's international offices in Frankfurt and Tokyo. He has served as an advisor to US governors, mayors, legislators, and directors of state development agencies in matters related to business retention, strategic planning, and target marketing initiatives.

Bob Hess
Vice Chairman Global Strategy
Newmark

Bob Hess is the Vice Chairman of Global Strategy for Newmark, where he is responsible for practice management, strategy development, business development, and overall client service and care. Bob has conducted over 300 assignments globally, across a variety of industries and asset types, including mega-facility projects in Asia, Europe, Middle East and Mexico. He has worked projects in over 30 countries.

Robert Boehringer
Managing Director of Global Location and Expansion Services
KPMG LLP

Robert Boehringer is the managing director of Global Location and Expansion services for KPMG LLP where he has gained over fifteen years of cross-functional experience, primarily focusing on location analysis, site selection and business incentive services, serving as a national resource and subject matter expert. Robert develops location and site selection strategies for a broad range of corporate investment projects ranging from $1 million to in excess of $1 billion in capital investment.

Darin Buelow
Global Leader for Location Strategy
Deloitte Consulting

Darin Buelow serves as Deloitte Consulting’s global leader for Location Strategy and is a Principal in Deloitte Consulting’s Real Estate & Sustainability practice in the US.

He is known for generating strategies that transform structural costs, improve access to talent, and penetrate new global markets by optimizing location and footprint decisions.
