Randall StephensonLITTLE ROCK, AR (October 16, 2019) – The chamber announced today that its 154th annual meeting will feature a discussion with AT&T Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Randall L. Stephenson on Wednesday December 4th.

Randall was named to his current position in 2007. Since then, AT&T has invested to become a modern media company that brings together one of the best collections of premium video content, a large base of direct-to-consumer relationships, high-speed networks optimized for video, and an advertising technology platform that will make premium video advertising more relevant and valuable.

AT&T has committed $500 million since 2008 to its signature philanthropic initiative, AT&T Aspire, which drives innovation in education to promote student success in school and the workplace. Randall also led AT&T’s breakthrough “It Can Wait” campaign – an education and awareness program educating drivers that distracted driving is never OK. The program has amassed more than 25 million pledges of support. And in 2018 WarnerMedia unveiled an industry-first Diversity and Inclusion Policy for talent in front of and behind the camera.

Randall began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1982 in Oklahoma. He served as the company’s senior executive vice president and chief financial officer from 2001 to 2004, and from 2004 to 2007 he was chief operating officer. He was appointed to AT&T’s board of directors in 2005.

Randall will be featured in a “fireside chat” format with Scott T. Ford, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Westrock Group and a member of the AT&T Board of Directors. The two will discuss the current state of media and telecommunications and AT&T’s role in supporting and driving business growth here in Arkansas.

“We are thrilled that Mr. Stephenson has agreed to be the featured speaker at this year’s annual meeting,” said Kevin Crass, Chairman of the Little Rock Regional Chamber Board of Directors. “The opportunity to hear from a national business leader of his caliber is a rare treat and something I know our members and community leaders will appreciate.”

The event will take place Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center. The lunch is the Chamber’s largest and most prestigious event of the year. The Annual Meeting celebrates the past year’s accomplishments and announces the coming year’s priorities. Throughout the lunch, the Chamber will recognize new members, look back on event highlights and ribbon cuttings, and thank MetRock Now Partners. Each year over 1,000 members and guests are inspired and educated by world-renowned, A-list speakers from Henry Kissinger to former President Bill Clinton.
